About The Elephant Man

I read a book named The Elephant Man. It was so interesting and sad. His name was Joseph Merrick. Some people called him The Elephant Man. He was 27 years-old. He looked like he had much trouble because he looked different. He was very ugly. His skin was very dirty and his head didn’t have much hair. He didn’t have friends. People were afraid of him. He wanted to have friends. He remembers his mother, but he doesn't know where she lives

I thought the Elephant Man was an interesting person because some people were afraid of him, but afterward he was famous man. For example on page 24 Everybody wanted to see him. A lot of important ladies and gentlemen visited him. They smiled at him, shook his hand, and gave him books. Merrick liked talking to these people, and he began to forget about his ugly body. His visitors never laughed at him. He began to feel like a man, not a creature.
